Old coffee oils and mineral scale make coffee taste bitter and slow your machine down.
How
- Wash the carafe, basket and filter holder after each use
- Descale every month or two, or as your manual says
- Use a descaling solution or the method in your manual
- Run two or three cycles of plain water afterward
- Clean French presses and grinders regularly too
